Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A male was spoken with by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is crucial that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

"These types of items being sold, online, have undergone no quality control and there can be no guarantee about their security.

"You simply do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More importantly, you do not understand the result drugs like this may have on your health."
